Ciao and welcome to our Heart of Italy travel journal! We embarked on an incredible journey in March of 2023, and we'd love to share our travel adventures with you! From the ancient and grand city of Rome to the romantic and flourishing city of Florence, our Rick Steves' tour was full of fun activities, tasty treats and beautiful sites. Along our route, we got to visit the Tuscan hill-town of Volterra and see the vibrant villages of the Cinque Terre. This 9 day tour truly captured the heart of Italy, and would be a wonderful trip to add to your bucket list.

Our names are Leilani and Melanie, and we're a mother/daughter pair who enjoy traveling, taking long walks in nature, scrapbooking and spending time together. We were so excited to have the opportunity to go on our first Rick Steves' tour!
We've always loved reading his travel books, and his tour of Italy sounded so enticing that we couldn't resist. Before you knew it, we were online booking the tour. And for us, this trip was extra special since my baby girl Liliana was joining us too! She was along for the ride, growing in my tummy, making this the most epic three generational girls trip ever!
